Assistant Volunteer Coordinator
Department Education
Notes SCOPE: Supervise and evaluate volunteers and provide administrative support for the volunteer program. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Mange the SAVY program, including recruiting, interviewing, scheduling, and setting up CEC classes. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating volunteers. Coordinate training and orientation sessions for volunteers. Assist with coordinating continuing education classes for adult volunteers. Compile volunteer schedule (monthly, weekly, and daily). Maintain volunteer database and all files. Process mail, maintenance work order, expense reports, travel requests, and other necessary paperwork. Assist with annual Volunteer Banquet and any other department sponsored event through planning and implementation. Assist with the volunteer program: including recruitment, scheduling, training, supervising, ect. Assist with the development and updating of all volunteer training materials. Work with Volunteer Coordinator to create an quarterly newsletter for volunteers. Assist with volunteer operations in the absence of the Volunteer Coordinator. Work with Volunteer Coordinator to create and maintain information board for volunteers and maintain the volunteer breakroom. Travel to schools, area businesses, and conferences as assigned and necessary. Attend scheduled meetings. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent; preferred two years of college experience and/or work experience in related field; strong management and organizational skills; proficiency with computer work processing, spreadsheets, and databases; strong written, communication, and interpersonal skills; creativity; ability to handle multiple projects with competing deadlines; flexibility with scheduling; professional appearance.
