Aquarium Exhibit Docent
Exhibit Volunteers interact with guests in the exhibit areas to answer questions and provide information.
Aquarist
Aquarist Volunteers work behind-the-scenes assisting the Biologists with the daily tasks required for the maintenance, care and feeding of the Aquarium's inhabitants. Openings are limited and may be awarded to our most senior and reliable volunteers in other aquarium positions.
Dive Team
Dive Team Volunteers assist our staff divers with the feeding and daily cleaning involved with the Caribbean and South Pacific Exhibits.
Youth (SAVY)
The Society for Aquarium Volunteer Youth (SAVY) Program is primarily a summer-based program. It was created to provide young adults the opportunity to experience the Marine Biological Sciences firsthand and also to gain insight into the job opportunities available in this field. Youth Volunteers shadow our Naturalists and Exhibit Volunteers as they answer questions and provide information for the Aquarium's guests.

Rainforest Exhibit Docent
Exhibit Volunteers provide information to guests about the flora and fauna of our Rainforest pyramid.
Rainforest Keeper
Rainforest Keeper Volunteers assist the staff with the daily care and maintenance of the Rainforest and it's inhabitants, which consists of various species of birds, fish, reptiles and insects.
Education Office
Education Office Volunteers work along with the Education staff on the preparation of the many educational opportunities and projects they provide to children from grades K through 12.
Education Tour Guide
Education Tour Volunteers are our first contact with arriving tour groups. They assist each group with check-in and with the coordination of their tour particulars.
Gardens
Gardens Volunteers work with the Gardens staff to plant and propagate all of the plants and flowers located on Moody Gardens' property.
Marketing
Marketing Volunteers are often invaluable to the promotions and special events planned and coordinated by our Marketing Department.
Information Specialist
Information Volunteers meet and greet guests, whether they are from Texas or far-off foreign countries, to assist them as they decide what to see and do at Moody Gardens. Share our information and your enthusiasm to make their decisions easier and their visit more a more enjoyable and memorable one.
Adaptive Sports Festival
Adaptive Sports Festival Volunteers assist the Therapy Department Coordinator with planning, preparation and coordination of the outdoor Sports Festival.
Mardi Gras Ball
Duties of preparation include mailings, phone calls, solicitation of donations and set-up. Mardi Gras Ball duties include registration, greeting guests, handing out beads, food preparation, clean up, teardown and other assorted tasks. Volunteers are also requested to be dancers, face painters, raffle attendants and clowns.
Special Events
Hope Therapy Special Events Volunteers assist with various special events sponsored by the Hope Therapy Program. These seasonal events include the Mardi Gras Ball for Special People, Adaptive Sports Festivals and Camp Discovery.
