Growing Together at Moody Gardens
When: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Moody Gardens has partnered with the Alzheimer’s Association to provide an educational program offered to individuals with early onset Alzheimer’s and one family member or caretaker. Growing Together at Moody Gardens is a hands on, interactive learning experience using arts and crafts, exotic animal experiences, tours through sections of our exhibits and attractions, Moody Gardens staff presentations and much more! By participating in Growing Together at Moody Gardens, caretakers and family members can use these monthly programs as a fun and exciting topic to reflect back on and discuss in their spare time. Moody Gardens takes the holidays to a whole new level of cool! A skilled team of master ice carvers has charted your course for your journey through the rainforests of the world to see monkeys, beautiful birds, incredible butterflies, colorful orchids and so many wonderful creatures. Your hosts on this journey are the spectacular leaf cutter ants carrying Christmas lights and other decorations to a magical place. A giant ice slide takes you from the tree tops through to the forest floor, ancient ruins and rivers edge to prepare for the most joyous time of the year. Also be sure to check out Shivers Ice Bar! As one of the largest holiday celebrations in the region, Festival of Lights has become a holiday tradition for families and groups alike. Enjoy more than one million lights within 100 sound-enhanced animated light displays and nightly live entertainment. Click here for more details.

Explore what Moody Gardens and other area attractions have to offer educators and their students. This is a free event for educators and support staff, with proper identification proving they are employed by a school.
The newly renovated Aquarium Pyramid makes a truly memorable Valentine’s dinner date, or let your cares float away on a romantic two-hour cruise around Offats Bayou on the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat.
Free to the public, the Annual Easter Egg Hunts are scheduled, for children 9 years old and younger are invited to explore the Oleander Bowl in pursuit of eggs and treats. The Easter Bunny stops by for the fun as kids also play a variety of games for prizes and a petting zoo. In addition to all of the fun and excitement outdoors, Easter Buffet feasts will be available at both the Garden Restaurant and the Moody Gardens Hotel on Easter Sunday.

Moody Gardens will dive into World Ocean’s Day with a focus on coral reefs and oceans around the world. Guests will explore the support of active research and participate in hands on conservation efforts and the opening of a new 3D film, “Oceans: Our Blue Planet” with an important conservation message. Enjoy this summer concert on Friday and Saturday nights from 6 to 10 p.m. featuring local and regional bands ranging from R&B, rock, country and blues. The cost is $15 for admission and each show concludes with a firework display over Offats Bayou overlooking the Moody Gardens pyramids.

Dive into Shark U Week at Moody Gardens! Join us for a plethora of shark themed activities. Guests can witness live feedings, diver presentations at the Caribbean Exhibit, keeper presentations and more in our Aquarium Pyramid.

Halloween is right around the corner and what’s a better way to start your Halloween festivities than painting pumpkins? Learn about how we provide our animals with fun and exciting objects that stimulate their minds and give them something to explore in order to enhance their everyday lives.
After finishing your works of pumpkin art, watch as our biologists place your colorful Halloween pumpkins in our animal enclosures to see how they interact with their new edible decorations! (paint used in this activity is non-toxic and safe for our animals)

Galveston residents and workers will be treated to an experience at one of the top tourist destinations on the island when Moody Gardens hosts its annual Galveston Appreciation Day on Oct. 14, 2018. Click here for more details.
It’s a family affair with the annual Ghostly Gardens celebration! Children and their families can participate in free trick-or-treating, creepy crafts, face-painting and other fun activities from 2 pm to 4 pm.
The event will also include a kid’s costume contest for children 12 years old and younger. Prizes will be awarded to the participant with the best costume in each of the different age groups. Families with a member in costume will receive $5 admission to the Rainforest Pyramid, SpongeBob SubPants Adventure, Discovery Museum, MG 3D Theater, 4D Theater and Colonel Paddlewheel per person.
