Ocean Depth

Schools are in session in more ways than one at the Aquarium Pyramid®. Guests are invited to learn about ocean conservation through exploring the complex beauty and seemingly endless species of marine life of the North Pacific, South Pacific, South Atlantic and Caribbean.

Tide pools, jewel tanks and a variety of unique viewing opportunities submerse visitors in the vivid beauty and ornate complexity of the oceans of the world while providing underwater classrooms and learning experiences for guests of all ages.

In the North Pacific exhibit, playful fur seals frolic on the rocky shores and dive below the surface of the cold, pristine water. Guests then journey to the depths of the South Pacific, to the beautiful coral reef and its many colorful fishes. Here visitors come face-to-face with more than 200 species of fish native to that beautiful area.

King, Chinstrap, Macaroni, Rockhopper and Gentoo Penguins play in the frigid South Atlantic exhibit. This true-to-life exhibit is patterned closely on the rocky beaches of South Georgia Island, the birds' native habitat. The giant windows below the ice sheet allow visitors to view the penguins in their environment.

Guests end their marine journey in the Caribbean Exhibit, which offers an exciting one-million-gallon walk-through experience that gives guests the sense of diving with sharks, reef fishes, snappers, eels, barracuda and other marine life.
