The Cashier is responsible for daily customer service duties which include giving accurate directions to the attractions, offering colorful descriptions of the various attractions and events on property and assist guests as needed in a friendly, courteous, and compassionate manner. Additionally, this employee is responsible for accurate ticketing and cashiering. POSITION AUTHORITY: The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below. POSITION GUIDELINES: Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Assume 100% responsibility for quality of guests experience •Assure prompt service to all guests •General ticketing duties and accurate cashiering during transactions •Read and sign the daily memos that will include updates on pricing and events •Offer specials and provide information on daily events and accurate descriptions of all attractions, including operating hours and prices •Maintain a neat appearance that includes a full uniform as specified by Department Head and other Moody Gardens Executives •Maintain a neat and orderly workstation, ensuring that the station is left in an orderly manner complete with needed supplies upon cashing out •Accurate accounting of all monies received during shift •Follow procedure for cashing out as set by Department Head •Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: •High School diploma or equivalent preferred •Prior cashiering experience preferred REQUIRED SKILLS: •Must be reliable and responsible •Good computer skills •Ability to exhibit maturity in the workplace and have a cooperative attitude PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: •Ability to remain on feet standing and walking for extended periods of time •Ability to perform tasks that involve reaching and bending •Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds and carry for a distance of up to 50 feet •Ability to push/pull 30-50 pounds for a distance of up to 50 feet •Routine exposure to bright lights and loud noises •Ability to tolerate weather extremes •Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and evenings •Friendly Customer Service is job one. •Assure prompt service to all guests Interested applicants can fax application and/or resume to 409.683.4930 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
