SCOPE: Create a positive guest experience through exhibit interpretation and animal interaction. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Staff interpretive stations in the Rainforest, Discovery Museum, Aquarium, and/or special exhibits. Initiate guest interactions and answer guest questions. Create a friendly and inviting atmosphere for our guests. Monitor and direct touch tank interactions. Conduct education programs, including presentations, guided tours, birthday parties, sleepovers, camps and scout workshops, as scheduled.Assist with a variety of education demonstrations, as scheduled. Research additional animal/plant information to supplement presentations and guest interactions. Travel to schools, area businesses, and conferences, as assigned and necessary. Wear assigned uniform. Perform miscellaneous duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: High school or college experience in a related topic preferred; interest in marine biology, nature, and science; excellent interpersonal skills; enthusiasm; good speaking voice; strong verbal communication and publice speaking skills; good rapport with children;possess excellent customer service skills; ability to work with animal; flexibility with scheduling;sufficient mobility and stamina to spend long periods of time on tour, conducting programs, or staffing exhibit areas; ability to tolerate all kinds of weather; able to retain large amounts of information.
