Garden Restaurant Manager

Notes JOB SUMMARY:
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for successful and profitable management of Garden Restaurant to maximize the potential profitability of Moody Gardens. This Manager is responsible for inventory control and condition of all equipment as well as training, coordinating and supervising Garden Restaurant personnel. POSITION AUTHORITY: The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below. POSITION GUIDELINES: Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Responsible for maintaining warm, hospitable guest relations in all guest contact •Develop accurate and aggressive long and short range financial objectives for the restaurant •Operate within the budgeted guidelines, maintaining food cost percentages, and submitting weekly revenue reports, to include per cap data and cost control to the Executive Chef •Meet or exceed budgeted goals in sales and profits •Ensure the highest quality in food, beverage and service related to the operations of the restaurant •Maintain and evaluate existing food and beverage concepts and development of creative new concepts which ensure the highest quality of service and profitability •Responsible for knowing the competition and keeping current with industry trends and maintaining an appropriate level of community public affairs involvement •Implement and maintain housekeeping, sanitation and cleanliness standards in all areas of the restaurant •Operate in compliance with all Local, State and Federal laws and governmental regulations •Coordinate internal training and development programs for restaurant staff, ensuring all employees are properly inducted and oriented to department and maintain positive employee relations •Responsible for all equipment in inventory control in the restaurant •Responsible for ensuring good safety practices of employee and guests, assisting in the maintenance of proper emergency and security procedures •Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: •High School diploma or equivalent preferred •2 years prior Managerial experience preferred •1 year prior Supervisory experience preferred •Must obtain TABC & Food Handlers Certification prior to beginning work REQUIRED SKILLS: •Must be reliable and responsible •Must have strong communication and people management skills •Computer and POS Knowledge •Must have a pleasant personality and cooperative attitude PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: •Ability to remain on feet standing or walking for entire shift •Ability to lift up to 50 pounds •Ability to perform tasks that require bending, stooping, and reaching.
