Perfect for children 2-4 years of age! 

10:00 a.m. - 12:00 a.m.

Cost: $20 ($17 for members)

Cost includes one parent chaperone. 

Preschool Camps (2-4 year olds)

Come join the fun as we learn about animals and numbers 1 through 9 during our 2017-2018 numerical Preschool Camp Adventures! Camps include games, crafts, presentations or stories, themed snacks, and entry to the corresponding pyramid or attraction.

Please note that all campers must be of the listed age at the time of the camp in order to attend. Camps are restricted to the registered camper, and 1 chaperoning adult. Unfortunately, siblings (not of camp age) and additional adults are not allowed to attend.

Day Camps

Become an Eco Ambassador this summer at Moody Gardens! Join us for an engaging hands-on day camp as we travel from our own backyard in Galveston to other habitats found around the world.  Discover relationships that living things have with their physical environment and learn about important roles that living and non-living things play in keeping ecosystems healthy.

Ages 5-6:  Animal Quest

Be the hero in your very own animal adventure and save the day!  Classify living things from around the world based on their common characteristics, investigate how they survive in their natural habitats, and reveal adaptations that help them thrive.  Increase in ranks fit for royalty as you move up from Knight to Lord/Lady, Prince/Princess, King/Queen, and finally Emperor/Empress!

Ages 7-9:  Environmental Emissaries

Take on the role of a representative for the environment as you explore how living things respond to changes in ecosystems, discover actions humans can take to keep ecosystems healthy, and learn about Moody Gardens’ role in conservation projects around the world.  Increase in ranks fit for a modern diplomat as you move up from Attaché to Secretary, Counselor, Minister, and finally Ambassador!

Jr. Keeper Camp (10-11 year olds)

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to care for our animals at Moody Gardens?  Then join us for our newly expanded Jr. Keeper for a Day camp program this July 15th-17th.  Go behind the scenes to get a close look at how our biologists provide daily care for our animal ambassadors.  Enjoy hands-on activities and games as we observe animal behavior, training and enrichment.  Camp includes group projects, animal presentations, keeper talks, and tours of our Rainforest and Aquarium Pyramids.  We are only offering this camp once this summer, so hurry and register before spots fill up!

KEEPER FOR A DAY CAMPS (12-13 YEAR OLDS)

Get an up close and personal experience with our Moody Gardens biologists as you experience firsthand what it’s like to be an animal keeper during our newly expanded Keeper for a Day camp program this July 17th-19th.  Explore animal training methods, enrichment we provide for our animal ambassadors, requirements for designing, building and maintaining our exhibits, and the process by which we prepare food diets for all of our animals.  Camp includes group projects, animal presentations, keeper talks, and tours of our Rainforest and Aquarium Pyramids.  We are only offering this camp once this summer, so hurry and register before spots fill up!
