Golf Course Sales Manager

Notes JOB SUMMARY:
Golf Course Sales Manager is responsible for all sales operations for the Moody Gardens Golf Course. POSITION AUTHORITY: The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below. POSITION GUIDELINES: Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Increase ALL tournament green fees, cart fees, range, pro shop merchandise, and food & beverage sales through standard sales operating procedures. •Oversees Grill Staff of five. •Execute outbound sales call requirements. •Create and implement lead generation strategies. •Identify and pursue target markets by monitoring club and community demographics, along with out of town prospects •Build strong relationships with local hotels, chambers of commerce and conference venues •Utilize a contact database daily to build and maintain prospects, track leads and accurately report sales progress •Manage event administration and logistics with regards to contracts, BEO’s, invoices, etc. •Maintain a close working relationship with event host; meeting and greeting organizer at event (if applicable); follow up with event host to ensure satisfaction and maximize referrals and repeat bookings •Ensure smooth execution of events by collaborating with department heads. •Implement and support all Moody Gardens initiatives and programs as requested by management •Sell other functions such as weddings, business meetings, social functions, etc. •Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: •College degree preferred •2 years prior Sales experience preferably in Golf/Hospitality/Service industry preferred REQUIRED SKILLS: •Must be reliable and responsible •Must have a genuine caring service coupled with a high level of professionalism and energy •Exceptional customer service skills, a wonderful, warm personality, very organized, and detail oriented team player also a must •Must have the ability to successfully multi-task with project deadlines and sales activities •Must possess extraordinary leadership skills along with a proven track record in sales, with strong closing skills •Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: •Ability to stand for long periods of time •Ability to lift 20-30 pounds •Ability to occasionally work outside in all weather conditions.
