JOB SUMMARY:
The Gift Shop Supervisor serves customers by training staff, having knowledge of and displaying products. POSITION AUTHORITY: The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Train store staff by reviewing and revising orientation to products and sales training materials •Attract customers by originating display ideas, following display suggestions or schedules, constructing or assembling prefabricated display properties, etc. •Promote sales by demonstrating merchandise and products to customers •Help customers by answering questions, obtaining merchandise requested, completing payment transactions, and preparing merchandise for delivery •Prepare sales and customer relations reports by analyzing and categorizing sales information, and identifying and investigating customer complaints and service suggestions •Maintain a safe and clean store environment by developing and publishing evacuation routes, and determining and documenting locations of potentially dangerous materials and chemicals •Maintain inventory by checking merchandise to determine inventory levels and anticipating customer demand •Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards •Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: •High School diploma or equivalent preferred •Minimum 3 years prior Customer Service experience preferred REQUIRED SKILLS: •Must be reliable, team-oriented, and responsible •Strong communication skills; verbal, presentation and writing •Ability to exhibit maturity in the workplace and have a cooperative attitude PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: •Ability to stand for long periods of time •Ability to perform tasks that require stooping, squatting, bending and twisting •Ability to safely lift 50+ pounds
