Reservations Manager (Part-Time)
The Reservations Manager oversees all reservation procedures, group conference bookings, hotel room inventory, helps Reservation Agents with all duties. POSITION AUTHORITY: The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below. POSITION GUIDELINES: Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Monitor and analyze rooms inventory utilizing Yield Management to maximize occupancy and increase average rate, this included monitoring of group blocks, determining cut off dates, and rate restrictions •Process and handle group rooming lists, reservations, and employee reservations request by imputing data into the reservations systems •Set up billing on all group masters and rooming lists with appropriate direct bill account or credit card •Track company status for business volume and quarterly reports for various companies, and work closely with other departments on the status of rooms •Block rooms for group bookings according to contractions •Interview, train, and supervise reservation agents for the effective operation of the department •Monitor performance and give feedback according to established standards •Calculate and prepare rooms reports •Assist in the development of revisions of forecasts for the rooms department both monthly and annually •Create online codes s requested by the sales team •Create a satisfying relationship with the sales team •Assist the revenue manager in any tasks needed •Create weekly department schedule •Uphold and create department policies •Enforce Moody Gardens’ company policies •Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: •High School diploma preferred •Must have a minimum of one year prior experience and a minimum of six months supervisory experience in similar size operation •Hotel experience preferred REQUIRED SKILLS: •Must be reliable and responsible •Computer literate preferred •Typing skills preferred •Must have a clear speaking voice •Multitasking skills preferred •CPR certification and/or First aid training preferred •Individual should be well organized, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, work well under pressure, and utilize a friendly and courteous manner PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: •Must be able to sit for long periods of time •Ability to work in a confined space
