JOB SUMMARY:
The Room Attendant will assure cleanliness of guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public vending areas, and assist room attendants in order to maintain Moody Gardens’ high standards of quality.
POSITION AUTHORITY:
The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.
POSITION GUIDELINES:
Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.  The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Clean bathtubs, toilets, sinks, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using cloths, mops, sponges, brushes, and any cleaning agents by extending arms over head, bending and stooping
•Strip and make beds, changing bed liners which may require lifting bedspreads
•Dust all furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves thoroughly
•Push and pull vacuum throughout entire room and empty trash
•Replenish amenities, linens, and supplies in guest rooms
•Responding in a timely manner to guest requests for items such as an iron, safety instructions, assistance, direction, and other information as requested
•Turn in all items found in employee’s work area to the Hotel Lost and Found
•Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and ability
•Prior Housekeeping experience preferred
REQUIRED SKILLS:
•Must be reliable and responsible
•Ability to understand English
•Ability to work as scheduled, requires weekends, holidays and evenings
•Ability to follow instructions, directions, and meet deadlines, including the thorough cleaning of a minimum of 15 rooms per day
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Ability to push and/or pull equipment up to 100 pounds
•Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over heard to perform cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces
