Banquet Chef
Hotel Food & Beverage
The Kitchen Supervisor works in a Sous Chef capacity concentrating on the front lines of hotel restaurant and banquets. The incumbent will be required to substitute into any of the stations as needed by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.
Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.  The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities. 
•Work as a floating chef to cover areas that need attention
•Substitute as needed into any station in the kitchen; grill, sauté, line, fry, etc.
•Able to prepare all menu items on each station 
•Able to prepare all stations for service and menu items for each station
•Make sure the guidelines from the Executive Chef are followed
•Maintain appropriate sanitation of stations with Health Department, and Moody Gardens standards
•Assist in Banquet preparations and with putting away buffet food 
•Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens
•High School diploma or equivalent required
•Ability to obtain an government required license or certificates
•Must obtain TABC & Food Handers certification prior to beginning work
•Formal education in Culinary School or 5 years of experience in a similar position
•Must be reliable and responsible
•Ability to read, listen, and communicate in English both verbally and in writing
•Basic math skills to understand measurements, requisition amounts, and portion sizes
•Ability to operate kitchen appliances such as stoves, ovens, mixers, etc.
•Knowledge of baking standard recipes, and food products associated with the same such as dough and filling
•Ability to grasp, lift, carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
•Ability to perform duties in confined spaces
•Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time
•Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges
