Seasonal Events Manager

Notes JOB SUMMARY: The Seasonal Events Manager will be responsible for coordinating the planning, maintenance, and operations of seasonal events, i.e.: Palm Beach, Ice Skating Rink, Ice Slide, Festival of Lights and any event occurring on the site outdoors. They will be responsible for training and scheduling seasonal employees and monitor the flow of guests and comments received regarding seasonal events. The incumbent will coordinate with each department area on day-to-day operation of seasonal events. The incumbent will work closely with the Challenge Course Manager and assist as necessary. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Responsible for 100% guests satisfaction. Review customer comments to determine if problem areas are developing, and take appropriate steps to address. Assist, create, administer, and maintain a department budget within the established guidelines. Complete daily walk-through of Seasonal Events, monitor specific needs and address those needs or report to appropriate individuals. Submit annual operational budget. Staff and supervise employees at Palm Beach, Ice Rink, and Ice Slide. Responsible for assuring all department areas within seasonal events are staffed, stocked and ready for business during daily operations. Develop operational procedures and safety protocols for Seasonal Events. Responsible for the purchse and inventory of all equipment and supplies. Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the facility. Monitor and maintain licenses, permits and certifications. Coordinate promotions and information with appropriate departments. Coordinate any other aspect of the seasonal event with appropriate department. Oversee the seasonal event during the days of operation.Responsible for coordinating internal training and insuring that all employees are properly orientated to department as well as performance reveiws. Responsible for maintaining a high level of professional appearance for self and staff. Responsible for ensuring good safety practices of employees and guest, assisting in the procedures of proper emergency and security policies. Responsible for performance of special projects as required. Perform all other duties as assigned. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: Must have or the ability to obtain: Fork lift, man lift, lull and other equipment operator's certification. Lifeguard Instructor certification (NASCO). CPR / 1st Aid Instructor certification. Pool Operator, Food Service and Bartending certifications. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to perform work at heights and in water. Must be able to work in hot or cold weather conditions. Must be able to lift and carry 75+ pounds up to 500 feet. Must be able to ascend to, traverse at and descend from depths and heights in and out of water (will train). Must be able to perform water rescue techniques (will train). This position will require walking, swimming and standing for long periods of time. PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Must be accurate, timely and discrete. He/she should be able to exercise sound judgement, be able to plan, be well organized and have excellent oral and written communication skills. He/she should work well under pressure, take the initiative on issues - not wait to be given directions and be flexible and cooperative.
