|Notes||JOB SUMMARY: An operator is responsible with the day to day operations of a course including pre-use inspections of course and safety equipment, properly harnessing participants, monitoring activity on the course and maintaining safety. Operators must be willing to become familiar with all aspects of operating ropes course and zip line, In order to receive certification as an operator an individual must attend training conducted by a certified operator trainer. Included in training is the requirement to pass written and practical testing. An operator's certification is good for one years. Operators must attend annual updated training in order to maintain certification. DUTIES: Ability to understand and use harness properly. Must be able to outfit all participants by choosing the correct size harness and make the needed adjustments to fit their body. Demonstrate complete understanding of harness components. Knowledge and ability to inspect all safety equipment and understand when something is unsafe. Comfortable being in close proximity to people of all ages and both sexes. Properly attach the cling line to a participants' harness, make adjustment in length of the sling line, and consistently inspect the slider assembly for any damage or deformation before inserting it into the overhead track. Monitor all participants on and off the course. Must be comfortable being at heights of 71 feet or more for extended periods of time. Competency in assessing the difference between a medical emergency and non-emergency incident for purpose of the Emergency Take Down procedures. Monitor all participants on the course and immediately stop any unsafe behavior. Capability and understand to assist scared participants. Must be able to manage zip line breaking system. Possess excellent communication skills. Express appropriate behavior towards customers/guests. Must be willing to learn and operate cash register. Any and all duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Must be 17 years or older and weigh less that 300 pounds; 100% attendance of training; Capable of bending, stooping, climbing, standing for long periods of time; ability to insert and remove the puck of the slider assemble into and out of the overhead track; must be able to communicate with staff and participants clearly; successful completion of written and practical testing; must be able to lift and carry 80+ pounds for no less than 10 feet.
