Notes JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for washing and cleaning tableware, pans and cooking equipment. Will also be required to keep the dishwashing areas and equipment clean and organized. POSITION AUTHORITY: The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below. POSITION GUIDELINES: Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Assume 100% responsibility for the cleanliness of dishware •Load, run and unload the dish machine •Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional or mechanical problems immediately •Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle •Clean and sanitize all pots, pans, and equipment parts •Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware •Keep dishwashing area clean and organized •Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen •Bag and haul trash to dumpster •Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss •Maintain adequate levels of dish detergents and cleaning supplies •Clean food preparation and production areas as required •Be available to fill in as needed to unsure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant •Attend all scheduled meeting and bring suggestions for improvement •Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: •No prior experience required •Must obtain Food Handlers Certification prior to beginning work REQUIRED SKILLS: •Must be reliable and responsible •Must have a positive attitude and work well as part of a team •Ability to work unsupervised and in a fast paced kitchen •Ability to communicate effectively with Managers, Kitchen staff, and dining room personnel •Must be willing to follow directions and ask for clarification if needed PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: •Ability to stand for long periods of time •Ability to perform tasks that require reaching, bending, stooping and lifting •Ability to safely lift bags, cases, and stacks up to 60 pounds many times per day •Ability to work in hot, humid, and loud environment for long periods of time Must be willing to work weekends, holidays and evenings.
