JOB SUMMARY:
The setup manager will manually set up, break down, and service all meeting rooms following Moody Garden’s high standards of quality. POSITION AUTHORITY: The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below. POSITION GUIDELINES: Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives. The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Communicate with supervisor throughout shift to be aware of the work •Set up all meeting rooms to the specification of the guest •Transporting awkward and heavy material such as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, etc., from storage areas to meeting rooms •Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and freshwater •Break down all meeting rooms where meetings have concluded and return all extra materials to the storage closets so that the room will be available to be reset for the next function •Perform any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by the supervisor to adhere to health standards including carpet cleaning, vacuuming, etc. •Any other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: •Knowledge of various types of equipment and set up styles used in the meeting rooms •CPR Certification and/or First Aid training preferred •Must obtain TABC & Food Handlers Certification before beginning work •Forklift certification preferred REQUIRED SKILLS: •Must be reliable and responsible •Ability to understand English PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: •Ability to lift and move multiple tables and chairs and podiums weighing up to 80 pounds through a crowded room •Ability to grasp, lift and carry, or otherwise move or push goods on a hand cart weighing a maximum of 500 pounds
