Food & Beverage Manager
Golf Course
The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for all service aspects of the entire food and beverage operation at the Moody Gardens Golf Club.
The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.
Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.  The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities. 
•Inspect and taste prepared foods on a daily basis to ensure quality ingredients, good presentations and recipes that meet standards
•Develop new menu items and sets pricing, keeping in tune with the market
•Improve existing practices and services both in the front and back of the house 
•Ensure food and beverage department is in compliance with all federal, state and local laws, including OSHA, EEOC, Wage Hour and health laws
•Follow MGGC policies and procedures and communicate them effectively to subordinates
•Formulate short term and long-term operational and financial plans for the food and beverage department
•Communicate financial information to the General Manager on a daily basis, including up-to-date budget information and revenue growth programs
•Prepare the annual budget for the food and beverage department
•Achieve budgeted revenues, controls cost (which includes labor, food, maintenance, act.) and maximizes profitability related to the facility operations 
•Ensure proper procedures for handling of financial transactions and credit control
•Provide a professional image at all times through appearance and dress
•Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner an follows up to ensure guest satisfaction 
•Take an active role in sales and marketing by surveying market to know guest needs, creating special menus for catered events to increase sales and developing innovative ideas to increase average checks, covers, and liquor sales in restaurant
•Aggressively recruit and staff department using company hiring standards
•Conduct regular food and beverage meeting, providing objective and constructive feedback for the employees and takes time to listen to employee concerns 
•Coordinate training classes for all food and beverage employees to effectively train on safety, proper procedures and service guidelines
•Maintain constant communication between departments and keeps other departments informed about special programs and events 
•Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens
•High School diploma or equivalent required
•Prior Food & Beverage and/or Hospitality experience required
•Must obtain TABC & Food Handlers Certification prior to beginning work
•Must be reliable and responsible
•Strong leadership, customer service, and planning and organization skills
•Strong attention to detail, and oral and written communication skills
•Must be willing to work weekends, evening, and holidays
•Ability to work in a fast paced environment
•Ability to remain on feet standing or walking for long periods of time
•Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally
