MOODY GARDENS SHOWS LOVE FOR NURSES AND HEATHCARE WORKERS

GALVESTON, TEXAS (May 8, 2020) — A beautiful big blue heart emerges from the Moody Gardens Hotel as the sun sets upon the community who live and work on Galveston Island. The locals and the visitors who cross the causeway to enjoy the popular tourist are taking notice of this image and all that it symbolizes in recognition for the nurses and healthcare workers who have given so much to help those effected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although National Nurses Week is celebrated annually in the U.S. May 6 – 12 to commemorate Florence Nightingale’s birthday, the appreciation of nurses and healthcare workers is extending worldwide this year more than ever in light of the COVID-19 crisis this year.

“The blue heart represents our love and gratitude of nurses and the tireless efforts our healthcare workers provide with their service to our community every day, especially now in this time of crisis,” said Moody Gardens President/CEO John Zendt. “Where would we be without the kindness and skill of these special individuals. It’s a small gesture with big meaning as we are all impacted by COVID-19 in so many different ways.”

The blue heart will continue to shine at the Moody Gardens Hotel for the duration of National Nurses Week through May 12.
