BRING IN THE NEW YEAR AT MOODY GARDENS

Galveston, Texas (December 28, 2020) — Cruise out of 2020 and bring in the New Year at Moody Gardens, with all of the health and safety protocols in place to ensure that guests are comfortable and safe as they celebrate the wonder and possibilities of this brand new year. Guests will have the opportunity to cruise out of 2020 and into 2021 aboard the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat, with spectacular water views of the Festival of Lights. There will be boat loads of music, dancing and a delightful menu featuring an array of heavy hors d’oeuvres ranging from Chilled Shrimp and Crab Cakes, to BBQ Short Ribs and White Cheddar Mac & Cheese, with two complimentary drink vouchers. Following a Midnight Champagne Toast, guests will return to shore to greet the New Year. Boarding for the New Year’s Eve Cruise will begin at 9 p.m. and the Colonel Paddlewheel Boat will sail at 10 p.m. Tickets for the cruise are $80 per person when purchased individually and $349 per couple when purchased as a Hotel Package. The Hotel Package offers visitors the option to conveniently retire to the Moody Gardens Hotel just a few steps away, with spectacular views of the property dressed up for the holidays, and also includes a $50 breakfast credit to use for New Year’s morning at Café in the Park.

Now until January 2^nd all room nights at the Moody Gardens Hotel are 15% off of the best available rate, starting at just $135 a night on weekdays and $269 on New Year’s Eve. The Festival of Lights one-mile walking trail decked with two million lights and filled with sound enhanced lighted and animated displays themed to everyone’s favorite holiday music, will be open regular hours (6 p.m. to 10 p.m.) on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, as well as the other holiday attractions at Moody Gardens, including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer playing in the 4D Theater, other holiday 3D films, the Arctic Slide and train rides, and fireside s’mores. New Year’s Eve is the last 

day for Food Drive Thursdays, where guests can bring a nonperishable food item with them to receive 2-for-1 admission to the Festival of Lights. The year-round attractions will also be open New Year’s Eve and New Year’s day, ensuring that there will be plenty of fun to be had with the family or as a couple.
