Holiday in the Gardens set to dazzle guests with a bigger, brighter Christmas Around the World Experience - and a Super Value

ICE LAND, Festival of Lights, and more open at Moody Gardens November 16

 

Galveston, Texas (August 7, 2019) – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas on Galveston Island. Santa’s elves will start work on Aug. 12 to transform Moody Gardens into the coolest holiday destination in the Southwest.

Guests can travel from Russia and Egypt to China and beyond and see how other cultures celebrate the season at ICE LAND: Christmas Around the World. With this brand-new theme, visitors will see landmarks from all around the world including the Alamo, Big Ben, Sydney Opera House, the Great Wall of China and more – all hand-carved out of two million pounds of ice inside a 28,000 square foot insulated tent structure chilled and maintained at nine degrees. There’s even a giant ice slide that will take guests from the top of the Eiffel Tower to the Arc de Triomphe. And don’t miss out on Shivers Ice Bar, featuring ultra-cool holiday spirits.

Festival of Lights will also offer guests a bigger and brighter experience. How big? It starts with Noel: the Dancing Tree of Light, a four-story digital Christmas tree. Stroll through a mile-long trail with not one, but two million festive lights featuring new scenes as well as favorites such as the Nutcrackers, a train, a toy factory, and of course – plenty of animals.

Take a spin around the area’s only outdoor skating rink and enjoy concession areas with hot chocolate and festive food, live entertainment and more.

ICE LAND: Christmas Around the World and Festival of Lights are open Nov. 16, 2019-Jan. 12, 2020 and are just two of eight holiday attractions, all offered at Moody Gardens’ Holiday in the Gardens. Other holiday attractions include Cirque Joyeux, Rudolph 4D, 3D films, ice skating, an Arctic Slide and train rides, plus live entertainment and great food. Hotel packages and group pricing are also available.
