Moody Gardens Hotel in Galveston, Texas, is embarking on a multi-million dollar transformative refresh project designed to enhance comfort, style, and guest experience. Set to be unveiled in Spring 2026, guests will soon enjoy an elevated version of the beloved coastal resort.
The refresh focuses on creating a tranquil and timeless atmosphere inspired by the lush landscapes surrounding Moody Gardens. Houston-based design firm Graniti Vicentia developed the new aesthetic, blending botanical themes and organic materials for a look that reflects the natural beauty of Galveston Island.
“This cosmetic upgrade will modernize our guest rooms in a way that draws inspiration from the resort’s lush botanical gardens and organic materials,” said Steve Kalbaugh, General Manager of Moody Gardens Hotel. “We’re excited to provide a refreshed look and feel that aligns with our guests’ expectations and delivers an elevated, AAA Four-Diamond experience.”
The refresh brings a new level of appeal and convenience to the hotel’s 433 guestrooms, including:
Beyond guest rooms, the refresh extends to Moody Gardens Hotel’s renowned event venues, including:
These updated spaces will offer a sophisticated, nature-inspired backdrop for weddings, conventions, and corporate events.
To minimize disruption, construction will take place between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., one floor at a time. Guests will be placed in rooms away from active renovations whenever possible, ensuring that the resort experience remains as peaceful as ever.
This refresh is part of Moody Gardens’ ongoing commitment to evolve with the hospitality industry while staying true to its natural roots. “We’re modernizing while staying true to the tranquil and natural aesthetic that defines Moody Gardens,” Kalbaugh noted.
