Mustang Week Texas 2026 at Moody Gardens: Your Complete Guide

April 17, 2026

Mustang Week Texas returns to Galveston April 14–18, 2026, with Moody Gardens as the official host venue. Here's everything you need to know — from the full five-day schedule and ticket options to where to stay and what else to do while you're here.

What Is Mustang Week?

Mustang Week is one of the largest annual Ford Mustang festivals in the country. Originally launched on the East Coast, the event expanded to Texas and has quickly become a can't-miss destination for the Mustang community. The week-long celebration combines motorsports, car culture, and social gatherings across multiple venues in the greater Houston–Galveston area — with Moody Gardens serving as the official host venue for the weekend's headline events.

When Is Mustang Week Texas 2026?

Mustang Week Texas 2026 runs Tuesday, April 14 through Saturday, April 18, 2026.

Each day features a different focus:

Tuesday–Thursday: Kick-Off Party, Track Day & Drag Day

The week kicks off Tuesday evening with a free meetup at the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier parking lot (6:00–9:00 PM), where attendees can mingle, check out Mustangs along the Seawall, and pick up wristbands, merch, and VIP packages early. On Wednesday, Track Day heads to Motor Speedway Resort in Angleton for HPDE sessions, autocross, kart racing, and pro-driver ride-alongs from 10:00 AM–6:00 PM. Thursday's Drag Day takes over Houston Motorsports Park (12:00–8:00 PM) with open Test & Tune, Grudge Racing, the True Street class, oval Fun Runs, the Pizza & Beer spectator drags, and drifting ride-alongs.

Friday, April 17 — All-Ford Cruise-In at Moody Gardens

The action comes home to Moody Gardens from 12:00–9:00 PM.

The All-Ford Cruise-In welcomes every vehicle wearing the Blue Oval badge — from vintage classics and Fox Bodies to the latest S650 Mustangs, plus F-150s, Explorers, and everything in between. The day also features live drifting exhibitions, a street burnout contest, a dyno challenge, drifting ride-alongs, a vendor midway, and food trucks.

Saturday, April 18 — The Official Car Show at Moody Gardens

The grand finale runs 12:00–9:00 PM at Moody Gardens, featuring over 1,000 Mustangs in what organizers call the world's biggest Mustang show. Browse the show field, shop the vendor midway for parts, accessories, and exclusive deals, and watch professional drifting demonstrations. The Pro Burnout Show puts more than $15,000 in prize money on the line with 70+ competitors. The Car Show Awards Ceremony kicks off at 5:00 PM. Stick around for Mustang Week Mayhem to close out the event.

Where Is Mustang Week Held?

The event takes place across three main venues:

Moody Gardens (1 Hope Blvd, Galveston, TX 77554) — Host venue for Friday's All-Ford Cruise-In and Saturday's Official Car Show. This is also where the official host hotel is located.

Motor Speedway Resort (MSR Houston) (1 Performance Dr, Angleton, TX 77515) — Wednesday's Track Day venue, featuring a 2.4-mile road course.

Houston Motorsports Park (HMP) (11620 N Lake Houston Pkwy, Houston, TX 77044) — Thursday's Drag Day venue with a drag strip and oval track.

Tickets and Registration

Mustang Week Texas requires tickets for all three main venues (MSR, HMP, and Moody Gardens). Here's a breakdown of the ticket options:

VIP Packages include perks like exclusive VIP area access, merch packs, and premium viewing. Options include an All-Access VIP (all venues, all week), an All-Access Participant VIP (for those entering motorsport activities with their vehicle), and a Weekend VIP (Friday and Saturday at Moody Gardens only).

General Admission options follow the same structure: All-Access Spectator (all venues), All-Access Participant (all venues with motorsport activity entry), and Weekend Spectator (Moody Gardens Friday and Saturday).

Tickets are available at mustangweek.com. While gate sales are typically available, some activities can sell out online — so buying in advance is recommended. Kids 12 and under receive free general admission, though a VIP ticket is required for anyone entering the VIP zone regardless of age. Single-day tickets are generally available at the gate only.

Tips for Attending Mustang Week Texas

Arrive early for Friday and Saturday. Moody Gardens events run 12:00–9:00 PM, but the parking areas and show field fill up quickly.

Wear sunscreen and stay hydrated. Mid-April in Galveston typically means warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine. Tents and easy-ups are not allowed in the show field or spectator parking, so plan accordingly.

Leave the pit vehicles at home. Golf carts, ATVs, scooters, hoverboards, e-bikes, and mini bikes are not permitted on event grounds unless they are official event vehicles, approved vendor vehicles, or pre-authorized mobility devices.

Pets are not allowed at Mustang Week events (service animals excepted per ADA guidelines).

No outside alcohol where venue policy prohibits it, and participants in motorsport activities may not consume alcohol.

If you're entering the car show, plan to stay parked through the end of judging to remain eligible for awards. Awards not picked up at the ceremony may be shipped via a post-event form at the recipient's expense.
