GALVESTON, Texas (Oct. 2, 2026) – Moody Gardens is introducing a completely new live holiday production this season with A Very Electric Christmas, an electroluminescent puppetry show created by Lightwire Theater, semifinalists on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”

The new production runs Dec. 19 through Jan. 2 at Moody Gardens Hotel and follows Max, a young bird blown off course on a journey to the North Pole.

Lightwire Theater’s signature electroluminescent puppetry brings the story to life as Max encounters new friends and discovers a story of family, friendship and hope. The approximately one-hour production combines music, storytelling and glowing puppetry in a unique theatrical experience for all ages.

Matinee and evening performances are offered on select dates. Every show ticket also includes admission to the Holiday Lights Trail, where guests can experience the mile-long display featuring more than two million lights before or after the performance.

Dinner is not served during the evening show and is not included with the show ticket. Guests can enjoy upgraded concessions during the performance. Prepaid dining is also available before or after select performances at Shearn’s Seafood & Prime Steaks or Café in the Park.

A Very Electric Christmas is part of Moody Gardens’ 25th Holiday in the Gardens Festival, running Nov. 21 through Jan. 2. The holiday season also features ICE LAND: Caribbean Christmas, outdoor ice skating, the Arctic Slide, holiday 3D and 4D films, train rides and more.
