Galveston Island Pickleball Serves Up Summer Fun at Moody Gardens Golf Course

GALVESTON, Texas (July 29, 2026) - Whether you're a seasoned competitor or picking up a paddle for the first time, Galveston Island Pickleball at Moody Gardens Golf Course is serving up a full schedule of summer fun with daily open play, beginner instruction, social events and youth programming.

Located at Moody Gardens Golf Course, the outdoor facility features four dedicated pickleball courts in a relaxed coastal setting, offering locals and visitors a welcoming place to play, learn and connect. Open Play is available every day for just $5, with no partner required and all skill levels encouraged to participate.

In addition to daily Open Play, the summer lineup includes several weekly programs designed for players of all ages and experience levels:

• Beginner Classes are offered Sundays from 9-10:30 a.m. for those new to the game, providing a low-pressure introduction to the fundamentals.
• Newbie Nights take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-6 p.m., giving first-time players an opportunity to build confidence while meeting others who are just getting started.
• Dink & Dine returns every Friday through Aug. 7, combining afternoon pickleball from 3-5 p.m. with the popular Friday Night Buffet at Pelican Grille from 5-7 p.m. for $30 per person.
• Kids Pickleball Camp offers young players a fun, two-hour introduction to the sport on June 24, July 15 and Aug. 5 from 6-8 p.m.

For those looking to reserve a court, rentals are available daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. for $30 per hour. Paddle rentals, which include a ball, are available for $6 inside the Golf Course Pro Shop. Players can also enjoy courtside seating and food and beverage service from Pelican Grille before or after their match.
